Ride Schedule

Something new! I am trying a different calendar format. I am using Google Calendars. This should make it easier to update and find the ride. I'll try to get the maps linked in the near future.

Also, as agreed to at the October meeting, we are working to decide when to start the Saturday rides. Please take note that some Saturday rides will start at 8:00 and some will start at 1:00 p.m. We will then tabulate how many riders show at each ride and use that information to set the time of the winter Saturday rides.

Spin class also starts this Wednesday (11-10-09) at Scott Bolin's office. We really need to have about 10 people at spin class to make it work. Please show up and join the fun. If you don't have a trainer to use, call Scott, Rick, or Mark and we will try to find one for you to use for a while.

Also on October 31 is the Tour de Gruene. This is a two day event with both recreational ride and time trials. This is an excellent ride as it winds alongside and crosses the river several times.

September 19th LaVernia Hammerfest Ride All Able bodied members (and even those of us who are not quite so able bodied due to recent injuries) are requested to help at the LaVernia Hammerfest. Volunteers are requested to be on site by 6:00 a.m. We will need several people who want to help during parking, registration, and also SAGS. I need a minimum of twelve SAGS, and I currently have eight. The more SAGS, the better. If you have not spoken to either me or Dan, please call. If you have registered and plan to ride, you can still ride after working at registration or parking.

15 - August A multi event day! First - Our group ride will be in LaVernia. There are a variety of distances, and for those who want the shorter option, we are thinking about riding the southern half of the route for a change. The ride will leave from LaVernia City Park. See the website for the map. Second - After the ride, we will go to the home of Walter and Nancy Scull to stuff rider packets for the LaVernia Hammerfest. They do have a shower available in the Dairy Barn (we have used it before) if you want to shower before starting the bag stuffing. We will probably spend 3-4 hours with bag stuffing. You do not have to spend the entire time bag stuffing, you can leave when you need to leave. Third - we are having a going away party for Jacob De Los Santos. He is heading off to Iraq for a year doing some aircraft repair/maintenance for a contractor. Mark Dunlop has offered his house as the party spot. He will provide fajitas for everyone, and we just need to bring a side dish. Drinks are BYOB. Please RSVP here, along with the side dish you are bringing so we know how much fajita meat to buy.
